Electric Bike and Scooter Safety On Our Streets

In the last few years lots of restaurants have started to use electric bikes and electric scooters to send out food delivery orders. These bikes and scooters are very silent on the streets. Most of the delivery people on theses bikes and scooters don’t stop for red lights, ride up the wrong way on a one-way street road, exceed the speed limit, ride on sidewalks, and use pathways designated for pedal bikes. The increase of these modes of transportation can be dangerous for people simply trying to cross the street. We must have options/laws/rules to curb the recklessness that some of these electric bike and scooters riders display. Proper legislation and active reporting needs to be created to help the safety of pedestrians.
